The Loki Earrings • Prasiolite is a green variety of quartz, a silicate mineral chemically silicon dioxide. Since 1950, almost all natural prasiolite has come from a small Brazilian mine, but it has also been mined in Lower Silesia in Poland. Naturally occurring prasiolite has also been found in the Thunder Bay area of Canada. Prasiolite is referred to as the stone of the poet, the trickster & the bard. A Talisman of connection, prosperity & travel, lore that surrounds this stone is that it was often worn by transient adventurers as a talisman of protection & mental clarity. These rose cut Prasiolite earrings are set into oxidized sterling silver, and paired with 14K GOLD Shepard hooks. Inspired by Loki, from Norse mythology: a cunning trickster who had the ability to shape-shift. Loki sometimes was an aid to the other gods or played tricks on them. Loki was represented as the companion of the great gods Odin and Thor, helping them with his clever plans but sometimes causing embarrassment and difficulty for them and himself. He also appeared as the enemy of the gods, entering their banquet uninvited and demanding their drink. He was the principal cause of the death of the god Balder. Loki was bound to a rock (by the entrails of one or more of his sons, according to some sources) as punishment, thus in many ways resembling the Greek figures Prometheus and Tantalus. Also like Prometheus, Loki is considered a god of fire. Shop these one of a kind earrings I. The earrings section of the shop. Act fast as I won’t be making another pair💭
