Opal Hand of Tetsuo Talisman

This talisman is inspired by Katsuhiro Otomo the creator of Akira. A homage to his signature style defined by hyper-detailed urban landscapes, cinematic perspective that revolutionized sci-fi with cyberpunk themes.

In Vol 2 of AKIRA, Tetsuo loses his right arm following this he gains his iconic robotic arm. The loss of his arm is symbolic of of the catastrophic loss of his humanity. Following themes of failure of technology in the natural world and the dehumanization of systems of oppression.

This talisman reminds us of our humanity, and guides our choices as we navigate a new technological landscape ourselves.
